Outlook for Mac 2011 - Knows Your Day and to Handle Mail

Outlook for Mac - Email ProgramWhen Jud Spencer posed on the stairs for a snapshot with Guy Kawasaki and their co-founders in the early 1990s, Fog City Software had not yet shipped its email program. It never would.
Instead, Spencer went to California. He had taken the code with him, and the email program was released as Claris Em@iler. When Jud Spencer joined Microsoft, he took the code with him, I guess, and Outlook Express Macintosh Edition was born.
When Outlook for Mac disappeared, Outlook Express Macintosh Edition learned to talk to Exchange and became Entourage. Now, of course, Entourage has made way for Outlook again — which can't synchronize with iCal or iPhone yet but fares reasonably well as an emailer:
›› Outlook for Mac offers all the tools to access, organize, find, filter and send emails efficiently and with the help an integrated calendar, to-do list and advanced address book afford. (Mac)

Pretty Plums - Free IncrediMail Letter Download and E-Card

Pretty Plums - Free IncrediMail Letter Download and E-CardFor a while, you can't see much; but you notice: the smell is different.
In the sun's warmed morning air, the plum blossoms' fragrance has developed differently from what you smelled in the misty cold from which you've just stepped forth. The peak is still far, but the day is young.
Here's what Bashō wrote about a situation like this:
scent of plums
the sun breaks through
mountain path !

Now, the Japanese ume, which blooms right around this time in early spring, differs a bit from the plum; both are delicious, though, and attractive:

How to Send File Attachments with AIM Mail or AOL Mail

On a hot August day in 1859, a muslin bed sheet very slowly swung through the still air, descending toward the dusty road leaving Crawfordsville to the south, for Swankesville, I believe; after the odd parachute, a balloon.
John Wise had been forced to end his balloon ride early, so he decided to make the landing interesting, at least. He attached the mailbag he had been handed in Lafayette (to be delivered to New York) to the sheet and threw it out before descending with the balloon. Poor winds cut his journey short, but Wise's was still the first delivery of mail by hot-air balloon in the United States.
Now, to cut short delivery time of documents and images, you can attach them, with a muslin sheet perhaps, to your ever email's gondola in AIM Mail and AOL Mail:

How to Search Public Google Buzz Messages in Gmail

The longer, the faster: search for more words and characters, and results come up faster, most of the time, with Boyer-Moore search.
Looking for matches, Robert S. Boyer and J Strother Moore's method starts at the end, with the last character of the search string at the string's length into the text. If you look for "search" and the text does not have an 'h' as its sixth character, there's no point, after all, in also comparing the five characters before.
Now, whatever search strategy it employs, Gmail finds all the public posts you seek — short and long:
›› Want to know what people write about in their public Google Buzz messages? Here's how to find anything fast in Gmail — and look for specific images or videos, too.

You 'n Me - Free Email Stationery Download and E-Card"Antiochus stayed here," he scratched on the gladiator barracks in Pompeii some 2100 years ago, "with his Cithera."
Antiochus used manere in the original Latin, which means "to endure", "to remain" or "to spend the night" — but was also used euphemistically, it seems, for an amorous stay. Speaking of amorous inscriptions:

It can happen to i and c, to whole words, and to entire lines even: a dittographic error has you and me, like the medieval scribe, duplicicate text.
There's also dittography that's no error at all, of course. It makes things happen small and large, for instance:

How to Filter Google Buzz Messages in Gmail

Opening Gmail, have you ever wondered why "?shva=1" is added to the address — and what it might mean?
That shwa sound is, it seems, an acronym, short for "should have valid authentication". Now, inside Gmail, wish some Buzz posts would not have been allowed entry to the inbox? Using filters, you can revoke authentication where you see ill fit — or apply labels, for example:

Here's to an alert week!

Heinz

P.S.: Thank you all and much for hundreds of smart nominations for the best email products, services and innovations in the Readers' Choice Awards 2011!
Finalists will be announced and voting will begin on Friday, February 11.

Gmail - Learn About New Mail at the Desk, Print on the Go

Gmail (Google Mail) - Free Email ServiceTo try Gmail's latest treats, it's time to break out Google Chrome's latest beta release and Windows maybe: with that combination, you can print from your mobile devices' browser Gmail, say on an iPhone. With Chrome alone, you can get pop-up alerts of new chats and emails (just the important ones if you prefer).
No matter the OS, finally, you use, a dynamic icon can let you know of new unread mail right in the tab or address bar of Mozilla Firefox and, yes, Google Chrome.
›› Gmail is the Google approach to email, chat and social networking. Practically unlimited free online storage allows you to collect all your messages, and Gmail's simple but very smart interface lets you find mail precisely and see it in context without effort.

Valentine's Day Heart Sweets - Free Stationery, E-Card

Valentine's Day Heart Sweets - Free Email Stationery Download and E-CardIt's the day for long thin things in boxes, slim sticks of cookie covered in chocolate: November 11, in South Korea, is Pepero Day, a kind of Valentine's Day with young people gifting each other pepero sticks and other sweets.
Speaking of sweets and Valentine's Day, how about chocolate-brown round things in a heart-shaped box?

How to Send Any E-Card to a Facebook Friend

When Charles M. Burns, owner and chief executive of a power plant, picks up his phone, he turns into a sailor hailing a sloop. Instead of saying "Hello", Mr. Burns answers the phone with "Ahoy-hoy!"
"Ahoy" was also Alexander G. Bell's favored greeting for that occasion, of course; Mr. Bell was one of the telephone's earliest champions after all.
Now, how about greeting your Facebook friends over some kind of electro-magnetic telegraph with "Ahoy-hoy" and a card?
›› Found the perfect e-card only to see your cheer-sharing glee shattered by only having your friend's Facebook handle on hand while the card asks for an email address? Here's how to send just about any e-card you can send online to a Facebook friend.

Find People, Email Addresses with Six Degrees of Separation

The horse was miffed, of course, an Arabian not used to seeing its breed belittled in a crossword puzzle. Just as irritated, Jerry Grossman — mathematician, horse lover and husband of the horse's owner — composed an angry letter to the editors of the bridge magazine that had published the puzzle. He signed the letter "Smarty".
This is how Smarty the horse is connected to Paul Erdős, another mathematician who had co-authored a paper with Grossman. Erdős, of course, put the horse within easy reach of just about every living mathematician — and, who knows, maybe you:
